Being Called to Move in a New Way

I am hearing over and over, I feel called to move but…… nothing seems like the right thing…

This because the moving is different now. Before it was go to work, clean the house, answer the email etc. All of this is requires external focus and energy exchange. Now the movement that we are looking for in internal. We are being called to be still, listen, be present, notice before you speak, focus your thoughts, take responsibility for your energy. This is a huge change!!

It can be frustrating, confusing and even overwhelming. Why? As always the answer is simple. Old programming and resistance to change.

We have been programmed to distract, ignore and force our way forward. As we can now see and feel, none of this works and we are being called to notice that it doesn’t. When we notice and accept that something isn’t working, we see a reason to change. Recognizing that change is needed is often the hardest step, because very often we have to admit that we have created things we didn’t intend to. Be gentle with yourself, remind yourself that what matters most is that you are recognizing it now and willing to change.

Then comes the challenge the change itself. The old programming is present and running because we hold a belief about it. We will often choose (consciously or unconsciously) to stay in these old patterns not because we are happy but because it’s familiar. I like to call it comfortable, discomfort. We see the need for change, even yearn for what it might bring, but we fear that the change might be worse than where we are already so we:

-Minimize, I don’t like it but at least I know what to expect.

-Rationalize, this is just how it is, I need to just accept it.

-Bargain, I will just change this, if I don’t have to acknowledge this.

-And Blow or Shut down.

All in effort to avoid the discomfort of change.

Why do we do this? Wouldn’t it be easier to simply see that change is inevitable and that when embraced it is always positive?

Of course the short answer is yes. However, the long answer is usually not because of many, many layers of stuff that we have accumulated that make us resistant to change (good or bad).

So, when we decide to change, we have to understand that change is a multi-layered fabric that must be properly attended to in order to see and sustain the change that is desired.

We are multi-faceted, Beings and so change must address all parts of us. In order to change old programming we must look at what drives it, often this will include a value (which is unchanging-spirit), that we have developed a belief around (which can be ever changing as we learn and grow-mind), this belief is made up of thoughts and anchored by emotions (signals from the heart about how you are being affected) that we triggered by experiences and has usually been reinforced over and over, either by your environment, your thoughts or both. If this programming is fear based (designed to avoid) it will create blocks as it anchors itself deep into your being.

If we take the time to study we learn that because there are many layers to the programming, there are also many ways to approach and unwind it. We come to realize that we are less resistant to some of these approaches and are able to see changes happen through their implementation.

With this understanding we can begin to look at where we want to see change and then begin to decide how we are best able to approach it.

Depending on the Programming and the attachments we hold to it, we may find that any number of things on list below are supportive in helping us to allow change:

-Meditation -Energy Healing -Spiritual Practice -Deeper Awareness

-Reflection -Healthy Diet -Focused Thinking -Reiki

-Counseling -Healthy Sleep -Mindfulness -Relaxation

-Journaling -Grounding -Connection to Nature

No matter what change we would like to see or what tools we find to be most helpful, the biggest determining factor on whether or not we will create lasting change is the reason we tell ourselves the change is needed.

Tony Robins say’s “We have the power to make massive change in a short amount of time if we have a big enough reason WHY.”

Without the why, we will without a doubt fall back into the old programming, simply because it takes no effort to do so. Without motivation we lose focus and then revert back to what is pre-programmed.

Change requires focus and focus requires motivation, especially when the change feels uncomfortable. We must constantly remind ourselves why the discomfort is present otherwise the thinking becomes I was less uncomfortable before. And it is true, change is much more uncomfortable than living in a repetitive pattern, at first. However, this is a temporary pain (if we stay focused) that will lead to feeling better. While staying stuck is a discomfort, is less painful in each moment, it is a life sentence of always feeling the same or worse.

We are being called to understand that true change and intentional creation begin within us. This is the reason to move from the old ways of doing and movement to this new way of slowing down and noticing the internal movement. To slow down enough to notice what we are being called to change within us and then moving into a space where we are willing to sit with the discomfort as we implement the proper tools and strategies to move into this new way of Being.

As with all things you can notice how the process reflects itself. We are being called to change, but first must recognize how to change and then be willing to allow it, we can then expand this process to apply to all challenges. If we can become aware of the way we deal with change, and align with it, we empower ourselves to flow with everything. From this place of flow we change everything!!

May You Be Blessed,

Crystal*
